About the Federation

The World Ultimate Sin Moo Hapkido Federation is dedicated to the preservation, promotion and advancement of authentic Sin Moo Hapkido traditions worldwide, as the art was taught by its founder, Doju Ji Han Jae.

Rooted in the teachings and philosophy of traditional Korean martial arts, the Federation supports instructors, schools and practitioners through high-level technical training, international seminars, instructor and international Dan grade certification, and leadership development.

Sin Moo Hapkido combines effective self-defence technique with internal energy training, discipline, respect and personal growth. The art emphasises harmony of mind, body and spirit while retaining practical combat application.

Senior Grandmaster Massan Ghorbani

10th Dan · President and Director of the Federation

The World Ultimate Sin Moo Hapkido Federation is led by Senior Grandmaster Massan Ghorbani, 10th Dan, President and Director of the Federation. With decades of experience in martial arts, international teaching and competitive combat sports, he is dedicated to preserving the authentic lineage and continued growth of Sin Moo Hapkido worldwide.

He is a fighter and martial artist with a competitive record of more than 300 competitions, and his practical experience also includes almost fourteen years of security work in local pubs and nightclubs.

As a Sin Moo Hapkido leader, he has been the pioneer for the start and growth of the art in Ireland, England, Sweden, Iran and the Middle East, Germany, and Egypt and Africa, and this international development continues.

Federation Structure

Federation Representatives

The Federation is represented internationally by recognised masters, instructor representatives, black belts and affiliated clubs who carry Ultimate Sin Moo Hapkido in their own countries.

Technical Syllabus

Curriculum

Sin Moo Hapkido is one of the most comprehensive Korean martial arts, combining practical self-defence, traditional martial technique and mind-body training.

Striking techniques

Punches, knife-hand strikes, palm strikes, elbow strikes, knee strikes and finger strikes.

Kicking techniques

Front, side, roundhouse, spinning, jumping, flying, defensive and combination kicks, including the traditional 25 basic kicks.

Joint locks and pressure points

Wrist locks, arm locks, shoulder locks, finger locks and vital-point (Hyol Do) techniques for control and restraint.

Throws and takedowns

Hip throws, shoulder throws, leg sweeps, sacrifice throws and redirection techniques using an opponent's momentum.

Escapes and self-defence

Defences against wrist grabs, clothing grabs, bear hugs, chokes, punches, kicks, multiple attackers and ground situations.

Weapon defences

Defence against knives, sticks, swords, firearms and other common weapons, along with disarming techniques.
